Softness lowers defense by 3 points, to a minimum of 0; softening an enemy with a defense boost replaces its effect with Soft's defense drop. The Soft status is induced by items such as a [[Mr. Softener]] or badge attacks such as the [[Soft Stomp]]. There are no enemies in this game who can inflict it without items.
