Each teammate or player goes on one end of a cucumber and uses a slicer. To win, the aforementioned cucumber must be cut into slices as quickly as possible. Each player slices from either end by sliding their [[Nintendo DS#Stylus|stylus]] horizontally back and forth along the cucumber. Bigger strokes cut bigger pieces of the cucumber off. The team or player that can fully slice their cucumber first is the winner.
