| The Crazy Eight returns ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]''. It keeps its original function, although the "8" now has a gradient pattern, with half turquoise and half magenta, like the game's logo, and it is also much less common. When the item settings are set to Custom Items, the items turned off are removed and replaced with duplicates of other items; if none of the eight available items for Crazy Eight are turned on and the Crazy Eight is turned on, the Mushroom is automatically turned on.
