Overview
Introduction
Players use their jackhammers at a construction site to cut fossilized characters as accurately as possible. The shapes are Goombas, Bob-ombs, and Boos in Mario Party; Chain Chomps, Cheep-cheeps, and Bloopers in Mario Party 2; and Boo, Chain Chomp, and Blooper in Mario Party Superstars. If a player skews away from the shape entirely, they are stopped and cannot perform any further action during the minigame. Any player who gets at least 80 points successfully cuts out the shape and wins the minigame, though in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party Superstars, players who cut the fossils the most accurately win.
The game takes place at a construction site. The view is split into four, one for each player, and each has a shape of a character. The characters get on their jackhammers, and the game begins.

When all players are done, the game calculates each one's percentage, then the ground crumbles, and the cut shapes open, releasing the characters. In Mario Party, "MISS!" is displayed in the corner of any player who did not cut the shape perfectly. If none of the players get at least 80 points, no characters release after the ground rumbles. Any player who cut the shape perfectly does their winning pose.
Gameplay
Players have to cut the fossilized characters as accurately as possible. In Mario Party, the shapes are Goombas, Bob-ombs, and Boos. Any player who gets at least 80 points successfully cuts out the shape and wins the minigame.

Crazy Cutters can be bought in the Mini-Game House for 150 coins in Mario Party, or from Woody in Mario Party 2 for 700 coins.
In Mario Party 2, the fossils are shaped after Chain Chomps, Cheep-cheeps, and Bloopers. This time, however, the player(s) who cut(s) the fossilized character with the most accuracy (points) win(s).

In Mario Party Superstars, the minigame is a combination of both versions; it is primarily based on the version from Mario Party and features the Boo fossils, but uses the accuracy rules from Mario Party 2 and includes the Chain Chomp and Blooper fossils (the former of which is no longer a straight circle).

In all games, if a character completely skews away from the shape, they will be stopped and essentially eliminated until the time runs out.

Ending
After all characters have finished, the percentages are added up. The ground crumbles, and the cut shapes open, releasing the characters. Any character who cut the shape perfectly releasing the character does a winning pose.

In Mario Party, "MISS!" appears in the corner of any player who did not cut the shape perfectly.

In Mario Party Superstars, the camera zooms in on the winner(s). Additionally, the fossils make a character-relevant sound when they are released.

Notes
Trivia
* There is a rare glitch in the Mario Party 2 version, where if a character moves, the game registers it as a very small circle, causing that player to lose with zero points.
* There is a rare glitch in the Mario Party 2 version of this minigame. The second someone moves when this glitch occurs, no matter which direction the player moves in, it causes the game to count that as a really small circle and causes that player to fail with zero points.
