The '''Courtyard''' is a location in the [[Lake Kingdom]] in ''[[Super Mario Odyssey]]''. It is a small pool area found at the start of the kingdom. During [[Mario]]'s initial visit, the stairs connected to the courtyard are broken, though with some quick movement Mario is able to get up to the courtyard as a shortcut, bypassing the tunnel, which [[Cappy]] comments on. After peace is restored to the kingdom, the stairs become repaired. Mario may also reach the courtyard by using the [[Hat Trampoline]] on the ledge on the other side.

There is a small pool of water in the middle of the courtyard, with a [[painting]] inside leading to either the [[Southwestern Floating Island]] in the [[Sand Kingdom]] (if the player chose to visit the Lake Kingdom first) or the [[Floating Sky Island]] in the [[Luncheon Kingdom]] (if the player chose to visit the [[Wooded Kingdom]] first). After the story mission [[Broodals Over the Lake]] is completed, [[Lakitu]] can be found fishing in the pool. Mario may [[capture]] him and reel in the biggest fish in the floor for a [[Power Moon]]. Next to the pool is a [[Checkpoint Flag]].

The Lake Kingdom brochure claims the pool has a rich history, having been used to relax and dye cloth, and is now used for fishing, referring to the hole the painting is found in as a deep end.

[[Goomba]]s wearing wedding veils resembling the [[Lochlady Dress]] are found around the courtyard. Mario may capture them and create a [[Goomba Tower]] to find a ledge overlooking the courtyard with four [[regional coin]]s. After this kingdom's [[Moon Rock]] has been opened, Mario may also capture a Goomba and bring it down to [[Goombette]] near the [[Odyssey]] for a Power Moon.
