According to its artwork, it resembles Bowser's normal [[Bowser's Shell|shell]], but much more reflective. The Courage Shell has a physical defense rating of twelve and a magical defense rating of six points. Unlike Bowser's other armor in the game, it is not part of any series shared with other characters', instead acting as an intermediate stand-in for the "Sailor" and "Fuzzy" series. It can be bought from the shop in [[Monstro Town]] as its sole armor, specifically for 60 [[coin]]s. It is succeeded by the [[Fire Shell (armor)|Fire Shell]].
