The '''Cookbook''' is a special item in the ''[[Paper Mario (series)|Paper Mario]]'' series. It gives a chef the ability to combine various items, creating new items in the process as a discovered recipe.

It is first seen in ''[[Paper Mario]]'', in which the book is found in [[Shy Guy's Toy Box]], stolen by a [[Shy Guy]] during the events of Chapter 4. When [[Mario]] gives [[Gourmet Guy]] a [[Cake]] (baked by [[Tayce T.]] after Mario returns her [[Frying Pan]]), Gourmet Guy jumps around the area and flies offscreen, dropping the Cookbook. When Mario visits Tayce T. with the Cookbook in his inventory, she will notice the book and asks Mario if she can have it. After Mario hands her the Cookbook, she gains the ability to increase her repertoire by cooking two items to make a combined recipe.
It was first seen in ''[[Paper Mario]]'', in which the book was found in the [[Shy Guy's Toy Box]], stolen by a [[Shy Guy]] during the events of Chapter 4. To obtain this Cookbook, Mario must roll into a tube and enter a small hole near the entrance of the inside of the Steeple. It is given to [[Zess T.]] during the "[[Seeking legendary book!]]" trouble. It has the same effects as in ''Paper Mario'', allowing Zess T. to cook an item from two ingredients.
