| The Comet is an unlockable sport bike that appears in Mario Kart 8. It resembles a superbike with a turbine-shaped fairing. The emblem is located on the sides of the bike. It offers a handling and acceleration boost at the cost of weight and traction. It has inside drifting (like all the sport-type bikes), and shares its stats with the other non-DLC sport bikes, which includes the Sport Bike, the Jet Bike, and the Yoshi Bike. It is the only bike with a four-cylinder engine, and is one of the few vehicles in Mario Kart 8 to have a supercharger.
| |
| | |
| A CPU-controlled Mario will occasionally use this bike body (paired alongside the Slim tires), making him the only non-DLC character to use this bike body as a CPU, as well as the only non-DLC CPU character to use a Sport Bike; the other CPUs (except Link, who might use the Master Cycle, and the Female Villager and also Isabelle, who might use the City Tripper) will only use the Standard Bike whenever they are using bikes.
| |
|
| |
|
| In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it is available from the start. CPU Mario, Link and Pauline will occasionally use this body paired with the Slim tires, while CPU Pink Gold Peach uses the body paired with the Metal tires instead. Additionally, the Comet now shares its stats with the Yoshi Bike, the Cat Cruiser and the Teddy Buggy.
| | The Comet is an unlockable bike that appears in Mario Kart 8. It offers a handling and acceleration boost at the cost of weight and traction. It has inward drifting. It shares its stats with other inward-drifting bikes including Sport Bike, Jet Bike, and Yoshi Bike. |
|
| |
|
| | The Comet bears similarities to the Sneakster from Mario Kart Wii. |

| ==Trivia==
| | BoxTop |
| *The Comet is the only sport-type bike to not have built-in headlights, as the Sport Bike and Jet Bike have them built on their visors, the Yoshi Bike has them built on its cheeks, and the Master Cycle has one between the ears.
| |
| *The Comet is one of few vehicles to be powered by a jet engine, with the other being the Jet Bike and the Mach 8.
| |
| *The Tanooki Kart has a similar engine sound, but without the supercharger.
