| Clapper is an ally in ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest''. He always sits next to a body of water, making a stock seal sound effect every few seconds. Clapper has the ability to cool the water temperature if [[Diddy Kong]] and [[Dixie Kong]] jump onto him, causing Clapper to breath onto then clap his flippers, hence his name. In [[Lava Lagoon (Donkey Kong Country 2)|Lava Lagoon]], Clapper cools down the boiling lava water so that the Kongs to safely swim through, while in [[Clapper's Cavern (Donkey Kong Country 2)|Clapper's Cavern]], a level bearing his name, Clapper freezes the water into solid [[ice]] so that the Kongs can safely cross above [[Snapjaw (Donkey Kong Country 2)|Snapjaw]]. In both levels, the water that Clapper had cooled reverts to its original temperature after a while. Clapper is the only Animal Friend in the game to not have his own [[Animal Crate]].
