'''Char-chars''' are enemies appearing in ''[[Donkey Kong Country Returns]]'' and ''[[Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D]]''. They take the appearance of spherical fireballs, and can only be found in the [[Volcano]] world, where they appear as a recurring enemy.

Regular Char-chars display a face with a menacing grin and can be seen bouncing on platforms, being harmful if touched directly. However, if the [[Kong]]s blow air on one or use a [[barrel]] against it, the enemy will instantly disintegrate. Faceless varieties of Char-chars can be encountered as well, and may behave differently. Some either pop out of the [[lava]] (thus acting like [[Lava Bubble]]s from the ''[[Mario (franchise)|Mario]]'' games), rain slowly from above, or simply rotate in mid-air. Unlike the regular type, these Char-chars cannot be defeated with an air blow.
