These rodents (described as "mice"<ref>{{cite|date=March 1998|title=''Nintendo Power'' Volume 106|page=70|publisher=Nintendo of America|language=en-us}}</ref> generically) emerge from mouseholes and attack [[Wario]] by tackling him, though the attack is too weak to inflict any damage and only causes Wario to bounce back a few steps. Chūta cannot be stunned from being [[stomp]]ed, meaning that Wario cannot pick them up and carry them around. When Wario defeats a Chūta, a new one will respawn after the player re-approaches the mousehole. Chūta do not drop [[coin]]s when defeated.
