Category talk:Pokémon series
I think we shouldn't have these categories and just stick with the Super Smash Bros. ones (Characters/Enemies/Bosses/Places/Items). Anyone agree? -- Sir Grodus
They're closely-related, but extremely limited on their own. -- Booster
I did this to help people know which item came from which series easier. I didn't even know where the Maxim Tomato came from. So I made this to help. My Bloody Valentine
The Super Smash Bros. ones work fine, as thats basicly the only connection most of these things have to Mario. Creating articles solely on their series seems sort of pointless. Whats next, Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tamagotchi, Final Fantasy, Perfect Dark (Cloaking Device and Motion-Sensor Bomb), etc. categories. It could be stated in the articles where the stuff comes from. -- Sir Grodus
But with the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl soon, we will definitely see a lot more outside concepts come in. So shouldn't these stay? My Bloody Valentine
Maybe we should have, I don't know, a vote or something to help decide this. Having categories on every series, it just seems wrong. -- Sir Grodus
What if we put Character Attacks as well. Will that be good enough? My Bloody Valentine
I don't know, a lot of the attacks are exclusive to the Super Smash Bros. series, meaning they probably never actually appeared in the games the character originates from. -- Sir Grodus
I mean just list them depending on the character it is used by. It doesn't matter if they didn't use the attack in any of their games. Think, someone is browsing this website and sees Kirby's page. They like it, and want to find out more stuff about the Kirby Series in Super Smash Bros., but they don't know what Items or Characters are from the Kirby Series. Then they can just use that Category, and it will nail down everything of Kirby that has appeared in the Marioverse. My Bloody Valentine
The moves never appeared in their series though, they're not apart of it. They can't be counted, they were created solely for Super Smash Bros. and were only ever used there. They're Super Smash Bros., not whatever. -- Sir Grodus
What do you propose we do, then? My Bloody Valentine
I... don't know. This all seems so debateable. Its hard to discern what the right course of actions would be. -- Sir Grodus
Yeah... We should open a vote. That's the easiest way to decide this. My Bloody Valentine

Pokemon is major enough to have its own category.

- I think all series involved with the SSB series can stay as separate categories.Knife (talk) 21:29, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

I.e. merge to SSB series category.
- Wa
TC@Y – SSB covers the few elements of Pokemon already.
- Cobold (talk · contribs) – I agree, especially with what's written further down ↓.
Comments[edit]
On the flip side, there is already a lot in this category. Maybe make it a sub-category of SSB series as a compromise, or change the name to make it sound like a sub-category. Wa TC@Y 12:06, 16 June 2007 (EDT)
- That sounds good :D

- Yeah, that would work for both the lovers of this category and the haters. Make this suggestion a Third-Party Candidate :P My Bloody Valentine
Redirects?[edit]
Should all the redirects to the Pokémon article really be categorized? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:00, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
- Knife told me it was a good idea. That's why I categorized all the Redirects. My Bloody Valentine
- Well, we have categorized redirects before so why can't we categorize these redirects? Doesn't hurt.Knife (talk) 21:29, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
- OK then, sounds fair. But, what is Cobold's thoughts on the situation. My Bloody Valentine BTW, Knife, the vote above has already ended. We chose to keep them :P
