'''Cast Aways''' is a 4-Player [[coin]]-collecting [[minigame]] that is found in ''[[Mario Party]]'' and ''[[Mario Party Superstars]]''. Its name is a pun on "{{wp|castaway}}s," which is a term used to describe people stuck on a deserted island by themselves. 

This minigame, [[Deep Sea Divers]], and, to a greater extent, [[Paddle Battle]], [[Pedal Power]], and [[Tug o' War]] were infamous for [[List of controversies#Mario Party injuries|giving players injuries on their hands]], forcing [[Nintendo]] to give protective gloves to players who suffered those injuries. In ''Mario Party Superstars'', due to the game utilizing control sticks again, a disclaimer is placed on the rules screen, warning players not to use their palms to turn the stick to avoid hand injury and stick damage.  For the [[Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online]] re-release of ''Mario Party'', a warning appears upon the game being started, advising players not to use their palms to rotate the stick.

==Introduction==
The minigame takes place where four players are standing on an island, staring at the ocean, seeing three rows of items floating by. The minigame then starts.

==Gameplay==
The players' objective is to use their gloves to gather coins within 60 seconds. There are three rows of items floating by, with single coins, [[coin bag]]s that are worth five coins, and [[treasure chest]]s worth 10 coins. The players have to obtain the floating items by casting their gloves a short, medium, or long distance. When the player makes a cast, they have to reel the glove back whether they captured an item successfully or not. However, if the player fails to reel the item back to them before the time runs out, they will not be awarded the captured item. The minigame ends when the time limit is up, but there is no winner or loser. All players who participate get to keep the number of coins they collected in the minigame.

On [[Mini-Game Island]], the player has to get at least 30 coins to clear the minigame.

The minigame can be purchased from the [[Mini-Game House]] for 250 coins.
