It releases small bursts of flame intermittently. This type of goop deals damage to [[Mario]] on contact and sends him flying upward as if he were burnt by fire. Burning goop does not instantly cause Mario to lose a life, unlike [[lava]]. Unlike the similar [[electric goop]], burning goop can deal damage to Mario only in certain large quantities, so burning goop cannot hurt him in small specks. [[Gooble|Swoopin' Stus]] are regularly spawned from burning goop, just like with regular goop. If Mario gets caught in the middle of a large quantity of burning goop, he most likely loses a life or otherwise sustains heavy damage, as he will have nowhere else to go after flying upward and falling back down. Like most other types of goop, burning goop can be cleaned up by [[F.L.U.D.D.|FLUDD]]'s [[water]] or from similar sources.

During [[Chain Chomplets Unchained|Episode 1]], burning goop is produced by feverish [[Chain Chomplet]]s, though their type does not produce Swoopin' Stus. In [[The Goopy Inferno|Episode 3]], burning goop covers most of the village and Mario must save the [[Pianta mayor]] in his house, which is isolated in the middle of the village. [[Plurp|Coo Coo]]s fly around and drop burning goop during this episode. In [[Piantas in Need|Episode 6]], small puddles of burning goop trap ten [[Pianta]]s, whom Mario has to rescue. In [[Shadow Mario Runs Wild|Episode 7]], a trail of burning goop is left behind by [[Shadow Mario]] as he runs, and he occasionally paints his distinctive ''M'' signature out of burning goop.
