Most Bumpties are light-blue; however, they appear blue in ''[[Yoshi's Story]]'' and lavender in ''[[Yoshi's New Island]]'', while purple, blue-gray, green, and teal individuals also appear in ''[[Paper Mario]]''. Their name is a corruption of "bumpy", referring to their bouncy, rubbery feathers.
