Their appearance now resembles that of a torus with eyes. When Mario jumps on one from above, it can bounce him higher similar to [[trampoline]]s and [[Note Block]]s; if Mario bumps into one from the side or below, it bounces Mario away. Enemies, objects, and projectiles are not affected by Bumpers and will freely pass through them.

In the ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' game style, Bumpers are striped light and dark green, with eyes similar to that of [[Mr. Eraser]]. In the ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]'' style, they are checkered green and white similar to the [[Note Block|Jump Block]]s from ''[[New Super Mario Bros. Wii]]'', with the same type of eyes.
