Despite the comic being advertised as an adaptation of Donkey Kong 64 it was, more or less a rather loose adaptation of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2.

Characters featured in the comic
Like most other media adaptations of video-games Bumm-Badabumm im Urwald featured several errors and inconsistancies. Possibly the most notable of these inconsistancies was with the character Rambi who showed the ability to speak in the comic, whereas in the games Rambi has only shown the ability to make grunting noises.
*Donkey Kong
*Diddy Kong
*King K. Rool
*Dixie Kong
*Funky Kong (was only mentioned)

Differences from the video game
Other errors included Kaptain K. Rool being repeatedly called King K. Rool. The ability of several Kremlings were also different, in one scene a Kruncha is seen with a hook for a hand, whereas the hook-handed Krooks often times weilded swords in the comic instead of their signature hooks. Also of note is that the Lost World is known as the "Lost Land".
