'''Bulbfish''' are a species of glowing, bright orange fish raised on [[Bulbfish Island]] in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Brothership]]''. They can be seen swimming in a pen by the island's pier. They emit electrical energy from their bodies, so they are used as a power source to power the island's electrical appliances, such as their streetlamps. When [[Mario]] and [[Luigi]] first arrive on Bulbfish Island, they are called upon to investigate the theft of some Bulbfish eggs. They ultimately discover that [[Leyden's assistant]] is responsible. He had stolen the eggs as part of a plot to replace [[Leyden]] as chief. After cornering him near the lighthouse, he threatens to throw the eggs into the sea until Leyden stops him.
