The object of the microgame is to put out the fire on the building Wario is in by collecting water from the waterfall with a bucket and throwing it onto the flames. Each large fire takes one full bucket to put out. If the fires are extinguished, Wario and the player character wave.

In multiplayer, the water is situated higher and farther from the house. One player is adjacent to the waterfall while the other is close by them. The player near the waterfall must collect water and pour it into the other player's bucket, who can then throw it onto the flames. Each difficulty has one more large fire.
