'''[[Bowser's Castle|Bowser's Keep]]''' appears as major location in ''[[Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars]]'' and [[Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch)|its remake]]. It rests atop a large rock resembling [[Bowser]] himself. Bowser's Keep is accessible from a long bridge connected to [[Vista Hill]]. Its halls are lined with statues of [[Terrapin]]s wielding [[hammer]]s.

The castle is first visited in the prologue, with a standard rescue of the [[Princess Peach|princess]] from [[Bowser]]. Mario goes through an entry room, a heavily guarded hallway, a lava-filled room with bridges, and a culminating battle against Bowser atop a chandelier in a large room. The rescue is interrupted when [[Exor]] crashes into the castle, separating the characters and proclaiming the castle to be the new base of the [[Smithy Gang]]. The castle is quickly taken over, as several of [[Bowser's Minions]] defect or run away instead of fighting.

Mario and the others later make it back to Bowser's Keep using a [[royal bus]] from [[Nimbus Land]]. They encounter much stronger enemies than before. The characters first go through the same rooms as Mario did in the first visit. After the room where Bowser was fought in the prologue, the characters go through a dark, twisted hall and encounter [[Croco]] and his shop. After completing [[the Trial Course]], the characters fall from a nearby doorway into a tall room and fight the brainwashed [[Wizakoopa]]. When defeated, Wizakoopa returns to normal and not only gives the party a [[magic treasure box]] but also offers free healing. There is also a nearby Croco with an improved inventory. Afterward, the party goes through a long hall with several [[Thwomp]]s and [[Blazer]]s that, if touched, initiate a battle against [[Big Blaster]]s. Lastly, the characters battle [[Boomer (Super Mario RPG)|Boomer]], and after defeating him, the group goes to the roof, where they battle Exor.

Bowser's Keep is lastly seen in the epilogue, being repaired by Bowser's Minions.

*The design on the floor when the castle is entered in the [[Super Nintendo Entertainment System|SNES]] version is the first appearance of Bowser's emblem, which would become a recurring element in the ''[[Super Mario (franchise)|Super Mario]]'' franchise. The [[Nintendo Switch|Switch]] remake also decorates the exterior of the castle with this emblem.
