Bopapodami are hippo-like "enemies" that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns. They only appear in the Forest area of the game in very few levels. They always seem to have a happy expression on their face. They are minor obstacles that the Kongs must jump on in order to get through gaps the Kongs can't jump across. But they have to be careful, since they can only jump on the Bopapodamus a certain amount of times until it faints and falls into the abyss, taking out the Kongs along with it. If the Kongs do not make direct contact with the Bopapodami's head, it will simply swat them away, causing them to fall and lose a life.

* | *While the Bopapodamus is considered an enemy, it can also be seen as a kind of "Animal Buddy", as it helps the player to jump over large gaps, plus it seems happy to help the Kongs out.
**However, it can hurt the player if he/she jumps below its head.
*It is unknown whether the Bopapodamus was one of the animals the Tiki Tak Tribe hypnotised or not. It does seem that way, though.
