The Bomberry is a fruit that appears in Yoshi's Story. They resemble eggplants of yellow color that changes to red towards the top and are covered in green spikes. Bomberries appear during the Jungle Puddle stage of the Jungle page. At first they are invisible, but once the player walks past them, they begin to grow to full size, until their weight causes them to fall off into the water, where they will slowly sink to the bottom until they leave the screen. A new Bomberry will then grow from the original spot after a while. Getting in contact with a Bomberry causes Yoshi to take damage and his life meter will lose some petals.

Bomb Berries resemble yellow-and-red eggplants and are covered in green spikes. Bomb Berries appear only in Jungle Puddle. At first, they are invisible, but once the player walks past them, they begin to grow to full size. They continue to grow until their weight causes them to fall off into the water, where they slowly sink to the bottom. A new Bomb Berry then grows from the original spot after a while. Getting in contact with a Bomb Berry causes a Yoshi to make its Smile Meter lose some petals. Eating it also causes the Yoshi to lose petals (except for the Black and White Yoshis).
