The Blast-o-Matic (also written as Blast-O-Matic) is a powerful laser-firing weapon developed by the Kremlings under King K. Rool's orders in Donkey Kong 64. It comprises a majority of K. Rool's ship, Crocodile Isle. This machine is powered by a central core, which is connected to five rooms, each with its own colored power generator; the color for each power source corresponds to one of the five Kongs. The device is capable of firing a laser from three brass rings surrounding a metal arrowhead pole. The arrow of the machine comes out from the belly of Crocodile Isle.
The Blast-O-Matic is a powerful weapon which King K. Rool had attempted to use on Donkey Kong Island, intent on destroyed the island, in Donkey Kong 64.

History
The Blast-O-Matic was apparently designed and created by the weasel technician, Snide; after he finished creating the Blast-O-Matic, Snide was later expulsed from the Kremling Krew by a paranoid King K. Rool.
Donkey Kong 64
Prior to the game's events, Snide was the lead technician for the Blast-o-Matic, but was fired because K. Rool did not trust him. Snide had lost access to the weapon's blueprints, which K. Rool split apart and handed a piece to each of the Kasplats.

During the game itself, the Blast-o-Matic is first seen during the opening scene, where K. Rool is headed to DK Isles, plotting to blast it with the Blast-o-Matic. However, as Crocodile Isle steers quickly on the water, it hits a rock, breaking the Blast-o-Matic. The Kremlings work on repairing the machine for a large portion of the Kongs' adventure, having stolen Donkey Kong's Golden Bananas and kidnapped Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, and Chunky to buy time to do so. A cutscene shown when entering Gloomy Galleon for the first time shows K. Rool telling a Kritter, the Blast-o-Matic's new chief technician, that he trusts the Blast-o-Matic to almost be ready for activation. The Kritter says the machine is unfinished, and in response, K. Rool sends out Klaptrap guards to ensure that the Kritters do not escape until they finish repairing the machine. A cutscene shown when first entering Creepy Castle features a Kasplat trying to escape from Crocodile Isle in hopes that K. Rool does not discover the Kongs recovering the blueprints to the Blast-o-Matic, also deeming it a "stupid machine". When entering Hideout Helm, the Kongs set off the Isle's alarm system, forcing K. Rool to activate the weapon, ignoring the chief technician who begs for a few more hours to fully test it before firing, fearing that the Blast-o-Matic may explode and destroy them all. The Blast-o-Matic has to be deactivated within the time limit, which varies depending on how many blueprints that the Kongs have recovered for Snide (one minute for each blueprint, up to a total of 50 minutes). Deactivating the machine requires each Kong to complete two Bonus Barrel challenges just outside their corresponding power source. Failure to shut down the Blast-o-Matic in time (or choosing "Quit Game" from the Pause Menu) results in a Game Over cinematic where K. Rool laughs madly and presses a few buttons to activate the Blast-o-Matic. The sequence stops while it is pointed at DK Isles.
Much later, King K. Rool set-off in his mobile base of operations with the Blast-O-Matic, planning on blowing-up Donkey Kong Island with it. Unfortunately for King K. Rool, the Blast-O-Matic was damaged when his ship crashed into a large rock en route to Donkey Kong Island. Needing time to repair the Blast-O-Matic, King K. Rool had several Kongs imprisoned and also had Donkey Kong's Golden Banana hoard stolen.

The Blast-o-Matic was named the "Super Gun" in a prototype build of Donkey Kong 64.
Fortunately, Snide, wanting revenge against King K. Rool, decided to aid the Kongs in shutting-down the Blast-O-Matic; for some inexplicable reason, several Kasplats held in their possession the blueprints for the Blast-O-Matic, collecting these blueprints and giving them to Snide would help the Kongs later on in their adventure; for every blueprint the Kongs gave Snide, another minute would be added to the amount of time the Kongs had to shut-down the Blast-O-Matic's generator.

Super Smash Bros. series
After a large amount of adventuring, Donkey, Diddy, Tiny, Lanky and Chunky Kong managed to reach Hideout Helm, the part of K. Rool's Island which contained the generator of the Blast-O-Matic. After facing various challenges, the Kongs managed to shut-down the Blast-O-Matic, presumably, permanently.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
The Blast-o-Matic is mentioned in K. Rool's trophy description in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Interestingly, if players choose the quit option on the pause menu of Donkey Kong 64, a brief cinema of King K. Rool laughing crazily while aiming the Blast-O-Matic at Donkey Kong Island will be shown; this cinema also plays if players fail to shut-down the Blast-O-Matic generator.

The Blast-o-Matic appears as K. Rool's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, essentially as a recreation of the Game Over sequence from Donkey Kong 64 down to K. Rool having to press the button multiple times while laughing maniacally before it fires; only this time, the results of him firing the cannon are actually shown. It is also a Legend-class smashwiki that occupies one support slot. When used, the spirit increases the damage a fighter can deal to giant opponents in battle. It can be purchased from Sheldon's Place for 10,000 Spirit Points.

Trivia
Trivia
*Elements of the Blast-o-Matic's design resemble the Big-O-Blaster from Banjo-Tooie, and even had a similar purpose and naming convention. As both Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Tooie were created by Rare within the same time period, the similarity was most likely intentional.
*The Blast-O-Matic is last heard of in Super Smash Brothers Melee where it is mention in K. Rool's trophy description.
