A ball is a silver sphere with a red treble clef on it. It is also an item found only in Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. Balls help Yoshi get through levels. Sometimes, a ball rolls over a xylophone, causing a rising note to appear, and Yoshi can use it as a platform. Yoshi can jump onto the ball, and when the Game Boy Advance is tilted (gba), the ball rolls in the corresponding direction. Balls are also found in Shuffle Mode.

In Yoshi's Universal Gravitation, Chime Balls helped Yoshi get through levels. Sometimes, the Chime Ball would roll over a Chime Note, causing a Note to appear. In the game, Yoshi would jump onto the ball and the player would tilt the Game Boy to whichever direction they wished to go to.
*Spirit of Greed: Level 4
Sometimes, Yoshi would have to duck under walls and enemies or he would fall off the ball and, in some cases, fall into spikes.

*Spirit of Kindness: Level 10
