It can be obtained by completing the quest [[What's That Line?]], a possible reference to the fishing rod that [[Lakitu]], the host of the quest, uses. Bait 'n Wait can be used to activate a fishing [[minigame]]. The player has to catch fish swimming in a miniature lake. Once the player has tossed the bait in the lake, the fishing pole remains still. If the bobber sinks, it means that a fish has taken the bait. The player has to reel the fishing pole in to capture it.
