Awabō is a boss found in Wario Land II. He resides inside the remains of an ancient city that have been buried at the bottom of the ocean. Normally, Awabō appears as a micro-sized creature that looks like a bubble with arms, but he can inflate himself, enabling him to grow three times his normal size with a malicious grin. Wario has a chance to meet Awabō if he manages to sink the SS Tea Cup during the second chapter, in which case the Black Sugar Gang members who have stolen Wario's possessions flee into the ruins. If Big Kamukamu is not defeated in Escape from the ruins!, Awabō traps Captain Syrup, in which case he appears in the story Captured Syrup!, and is encountered by Wario after he traverses the area leading to Awabō's chamber. Awabō arrives to battle Wario while Syrup is trapped in a bubble. Awabō attacks solely by bouncing on the walls, ceiling, and floor, attempting to collide with Wario. Awabō can be attacked by being jumped on by Wario. After each hit, Awabō will create a duplicate of himself that will temporarily flash, trying to confuse Wario and temporarily speeds up. Awabō turns around if rammed by Wario. Awabō can turn Wario into Bubble Wario upon contact and transport him to the top of the room, in which case the battle has to be restarted. After Wario wins the battle, Awabō will deflate back to his normal size and flee. Wario then effortlessly defeats Captain Syrup and gets his treasures back.
