The badge costs 0 [[Badge Point]]s to equip, and when equipped changes the sound effects of [[Mario]]'s [[Jump]] and [[Hammer]] attacks, though the sound and function differs between the original game and the [[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)|Nintendo Switch remake]]. If multiple Attack FX badges are equipped, the sound effects play one at a time.

In the [[Nintendo GameCube]] version, it can be purchased from [[Charlieton]] for 120 [[coin]]s, though is not always available as his inventory will only show some items at a time. When equipped, the sound of Mario's attack changes of [[Princess Peach]] giggling.

In the [[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)|Nintendo Switch remake]], the badge is found in [[Hooktail Castle]], replacing [[Attack FX R]]. The sound has been changed to a traditional frog croak. The badge also has an additional effect during the battle with [[Hooktail]]; each time an attack is performed that plays the sound effect, her Attack and Defense will decrease by 1, but cannot go lower than a minimum of 1 and 0 respectively. The badge's existence is alluded to in a letter from [[Kolorado's father]], saying that [[Hooktail]] fears something "that begins with 'f' and ends in 'rog'".
