In this event, the player starts by sliding downward on the Touch Screen when "Go!" appears onscreen. The player can touch and hold the screen before starting to build up energy, and can perform a starting dash by building up energy and sliding downwards with perfect timing, however they are not penalised for sliding too early or late. Once the player has started the event, they can steer their character left and right by touching the direction on the Touch Screen, and can build up speed by sliding downward to cause their character to crouch. The player can gain more speed by repeatedly sliding down, although the character will stop crouching if they attempt to perform a particularly tight turn. The player should aim to remain on the course and pass between the 24 gates, however they will not lose speed if they leave the course, but will receive a three second penalty for every gate they fail to pass through. The player can also gain a speed boost by hitting the inner edge of either of the flags on either side of the gate, but will lose speed if they hit the outside of them instead. The player can also save ghost data for the event by achieving a time under seventy seconds, which can be raced in the Ghost Match mode. | |||
