Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879 – April 18, 1955) was a German-born Theoretical physics who is famous for his contributions to modern physics, most notably for formulating the theories of general relativity and special relativity that rationalized the laws of physics that govern the universe. His formula for mass–energy equivalence, E=mc^2, was first introduced in 1905 and became intrinsically linked with him.

If Mario talks to him, Einstein mentions how he was born in Germany in 1879 and moved to the United States of America in the 1930s (despite Mario having traveled back in time to 1905, when Einstein still lived in Germany).

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
Einstein appears in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "9001: A Mario Odyssey", where he is referred to as Mr. Albert Einstein, or just Einstein, also nicknamed Al or the Einster. Here, he is a computer programmer who invented the HAL 9001 computer and pizza machine for Mario and Luigi. Although he is confident that the HAL 9001 is near-perfect, he is unable to predict the dire consequences that arise when he leaves the computer with the Mario Bros.

It is only when Einstein returns to Mario Brothers Plumbing that he discovers that HAL has malfunctioned, and is attempting to hypnotize the two plumbers. Einstein quickly unplugs all of HAL's cords, shutting the computer off and freeing Mario and Luigi.

Einstein tries to apologize for everything that HAL has done, including the pizzas (i.e. popcorn pizza) that have been prepared. Mario does not care, as he intends on eating the pizzas anyway.

Einstein is portrayed by Ed Metzger, who notably portrays Albert Einstein in the only show endorsed by Einstein's family, Albert Einstein: The Practical Bohemian, a one-man show written and produced by Metzger that portrays Einstein throughout his life.

Donkey Kong Planet
Albert Einstein appears in an unnamed skit that aired as part of Donkey Kong Planet. While Diddy Kong is doing a math problem, Einstein pops out of a math book and introduces himself, before proving to Diddy that he is the real Einstein by doing a multiplication. Diddy then asks him to solve his problem while Funky Kong enters the scene to get his guitar. After Diddy introduces Einstein to Funky, Einstein decides to play Funky's guitar, stating that music is his "second passion".

After Funky praises Einstein, Diddy asks him again to help solve the problem. While Diddy explains the problem to Einstein, Candy Kong appears and Einstein compliments her, with him and Candy exiting the room to talk, much to Diddy's annoyance. A hour later, Einstein returns to Diddy to tell him about a song Funky composed. Diddy then asks Einstein once again to solve the problem, but Einstein quickly runs away as Donkey Kong appears (since DK is angrily searching for him after he was caught talking to Candy).

Another hour later, after Diddy successfully solved the problem by himself, Einstein reappears and tries to return to the math book as everybody is looking for him. DK then enters the room and Einstein explains to him that he just came to help Diddy solve his math problem. After DK scolds Diddy, thinking that he got help from Einstein, Diddy explains that he found the solution by himself, although DK does not believe this. Einstein then says that he was a dunce at school before becoming a great mathematician, and goes back inside the math book after telling DK and Diddy to say hello to Candy and that he will return to sing with Funky.

60-Byō Challenge! Luigi o Sukue!!
Einstein is mentioned in 60-Byō Challenge! Luigi o Sukue!! There, he is one of the incorrect answers for the May 2, 2022 question about the Japanese giant salamander, "Who was the person who brought the Japanese giant salamander back to Europe from Japan?" The correct answer, meanwhile, is Philipp Franz von Siebold.
