'''♥s''' are the collectible [[point]]s in the video game ''[[Yoshi's Story]]''.<ref>The ''Yoshi's Story'' Instruction Booklet consistently refers to this subject with the symbol "♥," as opposed to the word "heart."</ref> They are symbols of happiness and essential to improving [[Point|Yoshi's Mood]]. They also recover petals on the [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi's]] [[Smile Meter]]. ♥s are earned by eating [[Fruit]], defeating [[enemies]], and collecting special [[Heart Coin]]s. Additionally, one hundred extra ♥s apiece are awarded for each [[Melon]] eaten, each [[Special Heart]] collected, and for each [[Baby Yoshi]] that survived the current stage.

♥'s return in ''[[Yoshi's Woolly World]]'' and this time are functionally identical to [[Star (Yoshi's Island)|Stars]], but representing Yoshi's overall health instead of the [[Countdown Timer]], including extra ♥'s being found in [[Winged Cloud]]s in sets of five. Yoshi begins each course with 10 ♥'s and can carry up to 20, which is needed to obtain one of the four stars of that course. If Yoshi takes fatal damage when he has more than one ♥ remaining, he will be down to one ♥, which is shown half-broken and flashing. Losing the last ♥ will end the current Yoshi's life.

Unlike ''Yoshi's Story'', the ♥'s in ''Woolly World'' do not represent the Yoshi's overall mood, nor can ♥'s be replenished by eating anything that isn't a ♥.
