Main article: Nintendo 3DS

AR Games, short for "Augmented Reality Games," are games played using AR Cards that were bundled with the Nintendo 3DS. There are two minigames with Mario-related content: Fishing and Graffiti. There are also five AR Cards with pictures of Nintendo characters on them. The characters on the Cards are Mario, Toon Link, Samus Aran, Kirby, and a group of Pikmin.

Games with Mario-related content

Fishing

In the Fishing minigame, Mario items and enemies can be caught. Both a Blooper and a Lakitu appear randomly, and the Lakitu will fish the Blooper out of the water. If lightning strikes the water, then the player can catch a Fishbone. If the AR Card is placed on a green colored surface, then the player can catch a Green Shell, if the AR Card is located on a red surface instead, Cheep-Cheeps can be caught.

Graffiti

Mario also makes an appearance in the Graffiti minigame.

Star Pics

If the player uses Mario's AR Card, then the player is able to take pictures of Mario using the 3DS' built-in camera feature.
