Skellokey
Template:Pitenemy The Skellokey is a skeleton Pokey found in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. They live in the Shroobified Toad Town in the Mushroom Kingdom of the past. Like other Pokeys in the game, the Skellokey starts out with one head segment but gains more body segments when engaged in battle. However, unlike the Pokey, the Skellokey does not grow new body segments; new segments actually roll into the battlefield and join with the skeletal head.
In a fight, a Skellokey has a few attacks. The ghoul will actually eat its own body segments and spit them at its enemies. It will roll toward the one it was meaning to attack before it attacks. However, if the Skellokey does a flip before spitting its segments, it will spit them at the opposite brother. This attack can be blocked with Hammer swings. However, if the body segments are not deflected, they will rejoin with the Skellokey head. Skellokeys can also spit fireballs at enemies. This projectile attack can be easily jumped over. A Skellokey may also launch its body segments at an attacker. The individual body segment will spin towards the Bro. it wants to attack before unleashing. The body segments can be jumped over as they roll towards the intruder.
Unlike regular Pokeys, Skellokeys have spikes on top of their heads instead of flowers, meaning jump attacks are ineffective against the skeletal cactus. Thus each body segment must be eliminated if the head is to be attacked. An easy way to defeat them is use Green Shells and Red Shells.
Additionally, the boss, Mummipokey, from New Super Mario Bros. resembles a Skellokey wrapped in bandages, and has a similar attack pattern as well.
They are also similar to Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story's Toothy.
