Fire Necky
Template:Character-infobox Fire Necky is a large flaming Necky and boss in the game DK: King of Swing.
Fire Necky is encountered by Donkey Kong in the level "Fire Necky's Nest" in the area Wild West World. Fire Necky would attack Donkey Kong by trying to fly into him and engulf him in its flaming body. Donkey must avoid this attack and wait for Fire Necky to start spitting flaming rocks at him; Donkey must wait for these rocks to become extinguished and grab them when they do so. These rocks must be thrown at Fire Necky. After being hit once, Fire Necky would slowly chase Donkey Kong, but could be pushed back by more rocks. After being hit multiple times Fire Necky will finally be grounded. Donkey can then collect the golden medal Fire Necky was guarding.
Fire Necky's Nest
Fire Necky's Nest is the stage in DK: King of Swing where the boss of Desert World, Fire Necky, is fought. It has three rows of pegs in order of colors, and many pegs around the outside. After Fire Necky shoots them, rocks are also found here. A gold DK Coin is found here, held by Fire Necky. To defeat Fire Necky, the player needs to throw the rocks at Fire Necky. Any other try to defeat him will make Donkey Kong lose a heart, everytime Donkey Kong touches Fire Necky.
Trivia
- The appearance of Fire Necky, that of a fire engulfed bird, may be based off the legendary Phoenix.
- In the DK: King of Swing manual, Fire Necky is described as the "boss of the Neckies". However, Master Necky Snr., the sixth boss of Donkey Kong Country and guardian of the Chimp Caverns, is rumored to be the leader of the Neckys.
- The way Fire Necky shoots out fireballs and turns to rock is simaliar to what Stu does in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
