Kent C. Koopa

Template:Character-infobox Kent C. Koopa is a red-shelled Gargantua Koopa Troopa that blocks Pleasant Path, the road to Koopa Village and the Koopa Bros. Fortress in Paper Mario. He appears after Chapter 5, blocking Kolorado's way home after the explorer's adventures on Lavalava Island. He is an optional boss.

To pass him, Kent C. demands a toll of one hundred coins. He is an extremely strong fighter, with high offense and defense. However, he can be defeated easily if Mario and company (preferably Watt) attack his tail, instead of his shelled body. Kent C. Koopa uses a Ground Pound attack on Mario to squish him to do ten damage, and a slow Shell Toss to flatten Mario and his partner for three damage. He could thus aptly cause great difficulty for Mario by knocking his partners out for several turns. However, he is very easily put to sleep, which can be taken advantage of. Mamar's special move, Lullaby has an extremely high (though not 100%) chance of working, effectively leaving Kent C. helpless for its duration. Interestingly, if Mario uses the Spin Smash attack on Kent C.'s tail (while flipped over), he will spin around, causing him to drop a few coins.

Stats and Tattle Information

  • Max HP: 70
  • Attack: 3
  • Defense: 6
  • Location: Pleasant Path
  • Moves: Shell Slam (3), Ground Pound (10)
  • Tattle: This is Kent C. Koopa. He seems pretty greedy for such a large Koopa. He sometimes does a stomp attack with his shell. That attack has a power of 3. His shell attack also damages party members (like me!), so be sure to defend! As with all Koopas, your chances will greatly improve if you can flip him over. His defense power will drop. Watch it, though! He'll attack as soon as he's back on his feet. And by the way, is he not THE HUGEST KOOPA EVER!?! Somebody told me that he used to live in Koopa Village...

Trivia

  • Kent C.'s name is a play on "can't see".
  • Unlike most Gargantua Koopa Troopas, Kent C. walks on his hind-legs.
  • It is implied that he taught the Koopa Bros. how to fight.
