Selecting the Same Character

The same character glitch.

This glitch works only for multi-players. Each player has to select the character, then de-select them and move the cursor off. For example, say four people wanted to be Yoshi. The first player must select Yoshi and press A. Then they have to deselect him and move the cursor away without pressing A on any other character. Then each other player must do the same, selecting Yoshi, then deselecting him and moving the cursor. Then Player 1 presses B twice to return to the "VS/Battle" screen. When returning to the characters screen, notice how the ring around the selected character is flashing two colors. All the players will have their cursor on Yoshi, and must only press A to select him. Any players using the Wii Remote must have it pointed at Yoshi when returning to the character screen. If the player looks what happens when one player actually selects the character (presses A/2), all the other players have the same animation going on. When a race finishes and the select course screen appears, the second character is driving an invisible vehicle. (Note: Yoshi is only an example. This will work with any character.)

Using the Wrong Vehicle

When moving on towards the Kart/Bike selection screen (with the above glitch activated), if one player has a bike and one is in a kart, the player on the bike may look as though they're riding in a kart and vice versa. It does not affect the actual gameplay, and the players play as the character normally.

Wrong Clothing

Do the "Selecting the Same Character" glitch and choose any of the three girls Peach, Daisy, or Rosalina, then make both of the players choose any of the bikes. Make one player take 3rd place or above and the other take 4th place or below. At the victory ceremony if the player keeps an eye on the princess in 4th place or below, she will be wearing a dress while the other is wearing their biker suit or vice versa.

Cacti Pokey

A glitch from Mario Kart Wii.
The pokey trapped between the cacti.

In the Thwomp Desert tournament if the player has got the Pokey head rolling around the area it may occasionally get jammed between three cacti making it unable to roll around; When this happens it will shake in place. This glitch makes the Pokey an easy target.

Topmen Transport

In the second topmen tournament, if the player pushes the topmen to the about to fall outer ring of the Galaxy Colosseum (but not over the edge) and then the outer ring starts to fall what will happen is the topmen will still try to follow the player but the ring already started falling but the topmen will somehow transport itself from the falling ring back to the main stable platform.

Jitter-Top

In the second topmen tournament, if the player pushes the topmen and the topmen is very angled as if it is going to land on its side and it stops on top of any of the gaps that separate any of the outer rings it will be in some fast jittering frozen animation. This glitch can also happen if the second topmen pushes the other topmen, but both of these techniques are hard to do and is rare to see.

Misplaced Item Box

In the second topmen tournament, if the player falls off a certain area of the Galaxy Colosseum he/she can see a misplaced item box all the way of the bottom of the pit.

Exploding Players

In an online Coin runner, if the player ends the run, all the other players (except player one) will disappear leaving all their coins behind, letting the player's Team win. If the player continues, they'll be disconnected.

Wrong Animation

Sometimes when the player is watching a live Wi-Fi race, the player in first place who already past the finish line will start doing the fifth place and below animation while/or a racer(s) in fifth place or below will start doing the fourth place and above animation. Although it is more likely for the player in first place will do the wrong animation.

Double or Nothing

Occasionally when the player runs over a thin horizontal strip of a rainbow boost pad (like the ones in the beginning of Rainbow Road) they will sometimes get no boost or their boost will be done twice. This glitch will usually happen in high speed in 100cc or up and in a heavy kart or bike.

Neck-n-Neck

Occasionally in an online race if the player gets to the finish line first while there is an opponent who necks the player but doesn't pass him/her, the player in the lead will be in the position that the "necking" player was at in the score board after the race.

Incorrect Music

In Dry Dry Ruins, right when the player leaves the ruins, if the player gets hit by a Spiny Shell, if done correctly, the music from the ruins will be playing throughout the entire course. If the player is on lap one, the music will keep playing until they exit the ruins yet again. If they were on laps two or three, the music will return to normal when they cross the finish or enter the final lap.

Courses in Seconds

There are three known courses with glitches which allow the player to get very short times in Time Trials: Grumble Volcano, Wario's Gold Mine, and Mushroom Gorge.

In Mushroom Gorge, near the start of the race, the road will make an "S" like turn. In the middle of it, right before the fence appears, players should drop off of the track, use a mushroom, land on a red mushroom, do a trick, and land on the side of the cave with the bottom of the vehicle facing it. If all goes well, the player will slide across the side of the cliff and land near the exit of the cave, and the player can race normally to the finish, and the lap will count. However, sometimes Lakitu will say the player is going the wrong way even when they're not, making the lap inadequate. This can be done on all three laps if the player does this with precise timing.

In Wario's Gold Mine, at the start of the race, the player should move to the right and stop where the fence on the right ends. They should stand drift a 170º turn to face the nearest green pipe. If done correctly, the player should use a mushroom and try to get in the hole of the pipe to bounce off of it and hit the above track. Players should run the course backwards into the cave and make a sharp turn to the left the instant they enter it. They should hit the second pole in on the fence to the left, stand drift, and run the course normally to the finish. This can be repeated for all three laps to finish the course in 40 seconds.

In Grumble Volcano, there is a bump to the left of the starting line. At the start of the race, the player should make a sharp turn and use a mushroom over the bump. If lucky, the player will be shot up onto the nearby rock. They should drive around the rock along the edge three times. This glitch allows the player to finish the course in 20 seconds. However, the glitch will not work if the player drives too close to the rock.
