Spring Mario is a new form in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, that Mario first finds in the Toy Time Galaxy. In this form he is able to jump higher, and is no longer able to run. Instead he will simply bounce around the level. Using this new Item, Mario is able to bounce very high to reach items hidden in the air. This ability also grants Mario the power to climb very steep inclines in a slinky-like fashion. Mario would lose his form if he takes damage, or lands on a Launch Star or a Sling Star. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, the Spring Mushroom makes one appearance in the Chompworks Galaxy.
