Mattermouth

Mattermouths are a new species to the Mario universe, being introduced in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are dinosaur skulls that resemble a Dry Bones head. They also seem to resemble Bone Dragons. It will eat away at the floor, which will regenerate after a few seconds. Mario cannot destroy it, but can stop it for a little bit by stomping it's head. It is currently unknown if it has a body.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

They are featured in levels of Super Mario Galaxy 2. They will eat anything in it's way, including the floor under Mario's feet. The chomps Mattermouths take out of the floor regenerate after a few seconds though. If Mario caught within it's bites he lose a bar of his total health.

It resembles a large Dry Bones head.
