Mattermouth

Mattermouths are a new species to the Mario universe, being introduced in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are dinosaur skulls that resemble a Dry Bones head. They also seem to resemble Bone Dragons. It will eat away at the floor, which will regenerate after a few seconds. Mario cannot destroy it, but can stop it for a little bit by stomping it's head. It is currently unknown if it has a body.

They are featured in levels of Super Mario Galaxy 2. They will eat anything in it's way, including the floor under Mario's feet. The chomps Mattermouths take out of the floor regenerate after a few seconds though. If caught within it's bites you lose a bar of your total health
