So yeah. Any suggestions can go here on the talkpage. Super Mario Bros. (talk)

Some changes[edit]

The current Rules 2 and 3 aren't really rules: 2 is the reason for 1, and 3 is a supplement to 1. I suggest combing them like this:

  1. Some of the signature codes that are not allowed are ~~~(~) and {{User:User Name Here/sig}}.
  • Some of these signatures ruin the counting on voting style pages, particularly signatures with images.
  • No signatures are allowed, even if some don't ruin the counting on these specific pages. It wouldn't be fair if some signatures were allowed and others not allowed.

The current 4, 5 and 6 ("2,3 and 4" if you take my advice and combine 1,2 and 3) are all good.

The first part of 7 ("5" is 1,2 and 3 are merged) is good, but the rules stuff is unnecessary, as this page would become a MarioWiki policy page if your proposal passes, and Sysops/Bureaucrats are automatically the only ones allowed to edit MWiki rules on their own. I also rewrote 8:

  1. Sysops/Bureaucrats hold the right to delete/change any signatures they believe break the above rules within reason.
  2. Users that persist in breaking these signature rules will be dealt with by a Sysop/Bureaucrat.

Number 9 ("7" if you take my previous advice) is fine.

I hope this is useful! - Walkazo 20:07, 29 June 2009 (EDT)

Thank you![edit]

Yes, Walkazo. Thank you for making your suggestions. I will go ahead and make those changes. Super Mario Bros. (talk)

And thank you for crediting me (here and on the Proposals page). I have some more nitpicks, though. The first is minor: the "and" between "{{User|User Name Here}}" and "[[User:User Name Here|Whatever]]" shouldn't be bolded. The other suggestions aren't so minor...
Rule 3 is too accusatory. Instead, consider rewriting it like this:
  1. Adding seperate images and/or specialized coding as well as or instead of the appropriate signatures is also not allowed.
Rule 1 could also use some rewriting. For example, remove the parenthetical stuff (that makes us sound lazy and takes away from the "fairness" issue, which is our main reason for going "all or nothing"). Bolding the signature codes that aren't allowed might be a good idea, though bolding the ~~~(~) doesn't show up very well. I made some other changes, but showing is easier than telling:
  1. The signature codes that are not allowed are ~~~(~) and {{User:User Name Here/sig}}. Some of these signatures ruin the counts on voting pages, and while some do not, it wouldn't be fair to allow some personalized signatures while banning others, so none of them are to be used.
Again, you don't have to take my suggestions, but I think they would improve the page. - Walkazo 22:39, 29 June 2009 (EDT)

Well, I did take your suggestions, and you were right. They do improve the page, in fact, a whole lot. Thank you for the suggestions. · SMB (Talk) · 23:18, 29 June 2009 (EDT)
