Flutter Jump
The Flutter Jump is a move used specially by Yoshi and Luigi. This special jump makes the character to move quickly the legs to float in the air for a short time. The flutter jump was introduced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island that yoshis could use. If they stomped on an enemy, they could regain this jump and float for longer time. Besides the Yoshi series, the flutter jump move appears as well in some Super Mario Bros. games such as Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 DS where carried out the same purpose. Yoshi used the flutter jump in the Super Smash Bros. series, which he could leap high to the air without using another special move as third jump. Yoshi from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door knows this move as well. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario and Luigi could perform a flutter jump if they obtain certain badge.
