This is my page about my Super Mario Galaxy experience. I have a lot to say here, so I put it on a separate page :)
This page is under construction, and will take a while to create.
As for how far I am at the game, I'm at 121 stars w/ Mario and 121 w/ Luigi (meaning I beat the game).
Oh yeah, I might mention that spoilers lie past this point.
Main Stars
This section will contain my experience on the main stars, the first three stars from the fifteen main galaxies.
Good Egg Galaxy
I think the Good Egg Galaxy was an awesome galaxy to play. The Good Egg Galaxy is basically a galaxy with randomly themed planets scattered all over the place. I liked how it had no central theme. It was a great idea by Nintendo to put this as the first galaxy.
- Dino Piranha: This one is second star you play in Super Mario Galaxy. It involves taking a sequence of planets to finally battle the boss, Dino Piranha. This one was quite easy, even for the first try. That's about all for that.
- A Snack of Cosmic Proportions: This one is fun for some reason. In this one you just go through a ton of planets, feed a very hungry Luma(100 star bits for one planet!!!) , and then pass through two more planets and get the star. You're supposed to use the pull stars to get to the power star, but you can just long jump there. I can't believe I didn't just long jump to the star as Mario though, though I did do it w/ Luigi.
- King Kaliente's Battle Fleet: In this one, you jump around sandy planets and coconuts and airships to finally get to King Kaliente, who you battle by flinging coconuts back at him. This one is OK, it was fun, and was easy enough. This course also introduces spinning coconuts at things.
Honeyhive Galaxy
The Honeyhive Galaxy is the second galaxy, and I thought it was OK.
- Bee Mario/Luigi Takes Flight!: This one you go become Bee Mario, go to the back part of the main planet by going on a partially-honey-covered road, take a launch star, go to some flower planet and go around a ton of flowers then proceed to another planet to take star chips off the Queen Bee's back and do other stuff to get to the star and rescue the Toad Brigade. This one was fun.
- Trouble on the Tower: This one you have to go on a long sequence of things, you go to the top of the tower and pound the Mandibug on the tower twice. This one was OK. It was annoying at first because of my lack of ground-pound efficiency back but after the second time it was as easy as pie.
- Big Bad Bugaboom: This one is just annoying. I don't like the boss: It's not that he's hard and it's easy to die, but after you ground-pound him two times, it gets difficult to pound him the third because you have to have perfect timing and he tilts a lot. This was time-consuming, even the second time. I've learned from the second time that you can do it without the Bee Mushroom :).
Space Junk Galaxy
The Space Junk Galaxy was really fun. It had a nice spacey theme to it.
- Pull Star Path: This one was pretty straightforward and easy. In this one you take a pull star path, as the title suggests, though the galaxy to the last part, where you have to get five silver stars on platforms that disappear and reappear as you walk on it. Though Luigi's slippiness was a major issue on the last part.
- Kamella's Airship Attack: Eh, this one was okay. It's another Airship one; except with more airships, after that you fight Kamella w/ shells. Much better than doing the Deep Dark One daredevil.
- Tarantox's Tangled Web: This one you go though pull stars and sling pods to get to the boss planet, where you have to burst his giant back pimple twice. Strangely, though it is not hard, I find this one utterly annoying, (though not as much the second time)
Battlerock Galaxy
The Battlerock Galaxy was pretty fun until you got to the comets, but that's for later. The Battlerock had a space-fort-inside-a-rocky-planet theme. It would be similar to the Dreadnought Galaxy later on.
- Battlerock Barrage: This one is where almost all you do is avoid cannonballs and electric fences as the platform moves you around. This one was pretty easy and short.
- Breaking into the Battlerock: This one was fun. I like the ones where you have to explore the whole galaxy to get a star lying around, like the 2nd one of Good Egg. This one requires a lot of Bob-omb blasting, too. And this was one of them, though I can't remember the entire sequence of areas you have to pass through.
- Topmaniac and the Topman Tribe: In this one, you go places (naturally, full of Topmans) until you get to the Topmaniac, the leader of the Topman tribe, where you have to get rid of him by jumping on him and swinging him to the electric fences on the side. This one was kind of annoying, but not really annoying like some other bosses. Actually it's really easy non-daredevil.
Beach Bowl Galaxy
The Beach Bowl Galaxy is what the name implies, a beach galaxy with a bowl of water. The missions here are pretty dull, but it's a fun course. I like the little vine you can swing around on. That's fun.
- Sunken Treasure: This one is OK. At times it can be annoying though, for some reason. In this one, you collect five Launch Star bits and then you launch to the upper part of the Starting Planet, where you then are supposed to hit the switch and get around and up as fast as you can (or just backward somersault-wall jump-spin up, which is a better way) to finally get the star. Playing as Mario, my jumping skills weren't too refined so I had to go all the way around and it was way annoying. But it was easier the second time doing it as Luigi, which I just jumped up to get the star. Wow, that is a lot of stuff for some mission I don't have much to say about :P
- Passing the Swim Test: This one is just plain easy. All you have to do is talk to Coach, steal the Gold Shell another penguin has underwater, and bring it to coach. I wonder what happens if you accidentally get rid of the gold shell prematurely though...
- The Secret Undersea Cavern: This one is OK. In this one, you have to get a shell to get rid of a erm... wall thing and get through, and then go through another that to get to the Launch Star to get to the Cyclone Stone. This one is actually quite easy, especially if you've done it Fast Foe before.
Ghostly Galaxy
- Luigi and the Haunted Mansion: In this one, you do various things such as kill Boos and Pumpkin Goombas and get Launch Star chips to get to a mansion, where you have to go in, become Boo Mario, as rescue Luigi. Pretty fun.
- A Very Spooky Sprint: In this one, you go to a rather barren planet to go race the Spooky Speedster, a Boo with racing goggles. He challenges you to a race, in which you use Pull Stars to do. This one is frustrating at first, because you mess up a lot, but it really isn't that hard to do if you do it well.
- Beware of Bouldergeist: In this one, you go in and use Bomb Boos to destroy the Bowser Statues, in which you then use a Launch Star to proceed to some walls where you have to use Sling Stars, Sling Pods, and Pull Stars to get around, then you go to this annoying bouncy planet, then after some stuff, you get to Bouldergeist. Bouldergeist is not as hard as people say. As least that's what I think. All you do is constantly run around in circles, while not doing anything too stupid, know his attack patterns, and get some Bomb Boos to get rid of him when convenient. After doing the daredevil one, it's not that hard. (Actually, probably the daredevil one is the one people view as hard, I'll get to that later.
