Mario Artist: Paint Studio is a sequal-like game to Mario Paint. It was released December 1, 1999 only in Japan for the failed N64DD. It was one of the only games released for the system. It was like Mario Paint in that players used different paint tools to draw images. Frequently bundled with the game was the Nintendo 64 Mouse cotroler. The Mouse acted as the controler making painting similar to painting on a computer. Pictures of famous nintendo characters could be used and manipulated on screen. Images could be imported from video tape or a Game Boy Camera using the Nintendo 64 Capture Cartridge. Since the N64DD was a failure, the game was never popularized.
