Betarino

Betarino is a spider-like creature inside Bowser's stomach, in Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! It prevented Bowser from breathing fire by blocking a hole inside his body, which produced the fire. The Mario Bros investigated, and discovered Betarino; who then ate Yellow Star. They fought with Betarino to allow Bowser to to breath fire and to free Yellow Star. In battle Betarino has three attacks. The first, is sticking out it's tongue in hopes of eating one of the heroic plumbers. The way it's eyes point is a sign about who it shall attack. This attack can be countered by jumping. The next, is wrapping it's tongue around Yellow Star, then throwing her in the air in an attempt to hit Mario or Luigi.This is countered by a hammer swing. Finally, Betarino gets ejected into the air by Bowser's flame breath, and drifts down towards either Mario or Luigi. This can be jumped over causing no harm. Once Betarino was defeated, Yellow Star was set free and Bowser could breathe fire again.

Trivia

• Betarino has a smaller version which is similar in appearance, called, Petarino. It is unknown, however, if they are relatives.
