Peach Beach is Peach's personal race course in the game Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for the Nintendo GameCube and also in Mario Kart Wii for the Wii. The beach is a reminiscent of Gelato Beach and other areas from Super Mario Sunshine. It is Princess Peach's favorite beach resort.

Track Layout

The racers first began on the stoned straight. After turning right, racers have the freedom to maneuver as close to the track or ocean as they wish. Traveling to a sandbank is optional which has a dash ramp. Racers then travel under the pink rock arch to the smaller beach before turning left. After turning left, racers must then drift right to an inclined leading back to the straight.

Description

Peach Beach in Mario Kart Wii.

The race course starts out at a cobbled street that looks like Delfino Plaza. Near the starting line there is a bill board with Peach on it. She is holding a parasol and has her hair tied back. There is also a bill board with Toad on it. When entering the beach in a Ricco Harbor-like area, the Daisy Cruiser can be seen in the background. In the harbor, another cruise ship can be seen. It is stated in the official guide for Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, that this large cruise ship in the harbor (the Sunshine) belongs to Peach. Also the Pianta Statue fountain is replaced by a huge Power Star in LAN Versus mode. While racing on the beach, wandering Cataquacks (from Super Mario Sunshine) of four different colors will charge at the racer if he or she goes near them . The final stretch takes place on a path similar to those at Bianco Hills. The award ceremony at the end of every cup is taken place here.

It is updated graphically in Mario Kart Wii. The pipe with the double items in Mario Kart Double Dash is not there in Mario Kart Wii. There are also more umbrellas over the spectators. In the Wii version, Hammer Bros., Toads, Goombas, and Shy Guys can be seen on the deck of The Sunshine cheering. Seagulls can also been seen flying in the sky.

Official Descriptions

Mario Kart Wii

  • Guide Bio: " There may not be a hidden green pipe anymore, but this Double Dash track is deceptively simple. After a roar down the cobblestone straight, there's a long curve onto the beach (or a dash panel ramp off a concrete pier), and a choice of paths via an island ramp or a beach where Cataquacks roam. Remember that the tide comes in on the second lap! Once you're through the pink arch, there's a second smaller beach before a final sharp corner, and race to the finish!"
  • Web Bio: " You won't have much time to admire the ocean view as you tear across the sand and the cobbled streets of Peach Beach. Oh, and watch out the changing tide!"

Trivia

  • Cataquacks are able to walk through the water in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. However, they get destroyed when they touch it in Super Mario Sunshine.
  • A "Peach Beach" logo appears on a bus in Mushroom Bridge. Also, the license plate of such bus says "SUN".
  • Peach's cruise ship, Sunshine, appears in the waters near Yoshi Circuit.
  • The Daisy Cruiser can be seen in the background when you reach the beach area.
