To my knowledge, "komori" (her Japanese name) can be a shortened form of "hikikomori", which refers to a person who isolates themself. Seems unfitting, but are there any accurate translations for it, or is it really just meant to be an average name? Leirin 21:21, 27 March 2009 (EDT) LEIRIN

Two Sal Outs?

Apparently, the astronaut Sal Out from Touched! has a different Japanese name (Yasuko) from the Sal Out in other games (Nao Komori). Nao Komori, as far as I can tell, went unnamed in English until Game & Wario, where she was given the same name as Yasuko. Considering their different appearances and Japanese names (and voices, I guess), it seems like what happened in Game & Wario was a mistake. So, should the two be split or what? This is a weird one, so bear with me. In short, there are two characters in the WarioWare series with the English name "Sal Out". To explain how this happened, let's go look at this chronologically:

• WarioWare: Twisted!: the first character makes her debut in this game in 2004, where she sings Mona Pizza, the background music to Mona's stage. She is named Nao Komori in Japanese, but strangely goes unnamed in the English version.
• WarioWare: Touched!: the second character makes her debut in this game also in 2004, where she sings Mike's Theme, the background music to Mike's stage, notably having a different singing voice to the first character in both English and Japanese. She is named Yasuko in Japanese and Sal Out in English. The character from Twisted! also reappears in the Mona Pizza souvenir.
• In 2008, this wiki article is created, under the name Sal Out, and, for some reason, mistakenly treats the two characters as being the same.
• Game & Wario: the character from Twisted! reappears in this game in 2013. She is again named Nao Komori in Japanese, but is now referred to in English as...also Sal Out. This is just speculation, but given the timing of this appearance, I'd say it's likely that this might have been influenced by the wiki's treatment of these characters.

It is truly an odd situation, but given all this, I propose that the character from WarioWare: Touched! be split from this page as Sal Out (WarioWare: Touched!).

2. Shadow2 (talk) I don't see any visual difference, especially since in Touched she's wearing a space suit that covers most of her body. But, she still has the same hairstyle over her forehead. They look like the same character to me. As for the differing names in Japanese? It's very common for Japanese singers to have a different, mononymous stage name that they perform under. Her name could be Nao Komori, but she (sometimes) performs under the mononym "Yasuko".
3. Sdman213 (talk) Same hair, blush cheeks, and same eye color, seems like the same character to me.

Not quite as simple as that, actually... The Mona Pizza souvenir in Touched! also features the original depiction of Sal Out. You're right, I forgot, the character from Twisted! also appears in Touched!. And it's true that the two look very similar (they even both have a red heart shape on their outfits). I assume that's a big part of why the user that created the article lumped them together in the first place. May I ask what you're trying to get at? I guess the souvenir might be a bit of an issue as far as the identifier is concerned, as both characters do in fact appear in Touched!, but I hope that's not too big a problem. As for their similar appearances, I knew they looked pretty similar, but I hadn't noticed the shared heart motif before. It's clear that one was designed with the other in mind, especially considering that both seem to be named in Japanese after different staff members (Nao Komori after Naoko Mori and Yasuko ☆ Light after Yasuko Takahashi). @Shadow2 You raise a good point, but consider this. There's a character in Touched! who appears both as a singer and not. In English she's listed in the cast roll as "Bridget" and "Luna", but in Japanese, her real and stage names are "Miyako" and "Miyako17" respectively. See, the stage name is a variation on her real name, to make it clear they're the same person. Why not do the same with the Sal Outs if they're likewise the same?
