It's probably "M-C", considering the capitalization of the "C" and the fact that he's a Master of Ceremonies (what "MC" stands for). YELLOWYOSHI398

Definitely M-C. If it was supposed to be Mc as in McGraw, it would have been spelled that way, I would think. Ugh... I wish there was voice acting in Mario games for that reason. --Stumpers

Ballyhoo just looks somewhat similar to Chuck Quizmo with his large lips and hat. Chuck Quizmo is a worm-like being, while Ballyhoo has a humanoid body with arms and legs, they aren't the same. I have been trying to find where does MC Ballyhoo is named "C.O. Mentarista" in Spanish NOA. The guy or girl who put this information did it in 2013. Also in Mario Party: Top 100 minigames his name is the same as NOE. I will try to see if in smash bros ultimate his spirit is named C.O. Mentarista (even tho the previously mentioned person put this in 2013). Obviously i checked the manual. ElotroFer

There's a number of merge proposals going on at the moment, so I guess now's a good time to throw this hat into the ring.

MC Ballyhoo and Big Top are two characters that, together, host the Star Carnival in Mario Party 8. They are never seen apart from each other as far as I can tell (though I haven't played MP8 in a while admittedly), all of their official artwork depicts them together, and all of their official profiles group them together as "Ballyhoo & Big Top" or "MC Ballyhoo & Big Top". Considering they share their role and have virtually identical profiles and statistics sections, I think it's pretty clear that keeping these articles split goes against MarioWiki:Once and only once, and it's inconsistent with how other inseparable duos are handled (like Dribble & Spitz), so I think it would only be fair to merge Big Top to this article and rename it to "MC Ballyhoo & Big Top". (In case it needs to be clarified, both MC Ballyhoo and Big Top will be redirects and the Big Top redirect will stay in Category:Clothing.)

This artwork by Masanori Sato does show Ballyhoo by himself but it would be silly to keep Ballyhoo and Big Top split over one artwork when the duo is always together in Mario Party 8.-- Pizza Master 19:45, February 6, 2025 (EST)
