World 8 is the eighth and final world in the game Super Mario Bros. Special, located in the Mushroom Kingdom. It consists of an athletic level, an overworld and underwater level, an underground and overworld level, and a castle.

Levels[edit]

Image Name Description

World 8-1 The first level, set on giant mushrooms above water, featuring many Koopa Paratroopas, Lifts, and Fire-Bars, with occasional appearances of other enemies.
World 8-2 A level that starts underwater with Bloobers, Cheep-Cheeps, and Fire-Bars, before exiting to the exterior of a massive fortress with Barrels, Sigebou, and Hammer Brothers.
World 8-3 A level that starts underground with many Icicles and Fire-Bars, before entering an open overworld area with many Nakaji, Chokichoki, and Hammer Brothers. This level has the only Clock in the game.
World 8-4 The final level of the game, a castle featuring a gauntlet of Fire-Bars, Podoboos, Buzzy Beetles, and Piranha Plants, leading to Bowser and Princess Toadstool at the end.
