Strategy: This specific set of Gear is to increase base POW. Raising temporary POW may be tedious and encourages overconfidence. Defensive stats are not prioritized to encourage learning to dodge attacks. As Mario always moves first and is the strongest brother, give him Daredevil Boots to finish battles in one or few turns. Give him Tight Belt so his SP usage is halved to reduce item usage in the Gauntlet. Give Luigi Surprising Socks to restore SP whenever it is his turn. Give the Challenge Medal to him instead of Mario, who needs to use his Gear slots for important Gear to contribute the most in each battle with his increased base POW. Replace Challenge Medal with Tight Belt to remove increased difficulty if desired.

Strategy: Using Farmer Boots to earn and consume Beans reduce the reliability of Gear. Angel Bangle is the strongest healing Gear in the game, restoring a good amount of HP and BP that almost completely returns used BP and negates the Casual Bros.'s importance. Counterer and Big Lucky are heavy hitters. The latter is especially useful after consuming many Stache Beans.

Strategy:

Using Farmer Boots to earn and consume Beans reduces the reliability of Gear.
Counterer and Big Lucky are heavy hitters, especially when the former Rank Up Bonus is buffed in this game. The latter is especially useful after consuming many Stache Beans. Lucky hits also benefit the effectiveness of Star Brooch DX.
Choose Copy Max +2 twice and Quick Copy to increase the effectiveness of Paper Mario's copies, and equip Trio Ring to reduce BP usage.
The selected Battle Cards focus on increasing damage dealt. The two Battle Cards that also boost enemies' attacks encourage learning to dodge enemy attacks.

Strategy: The selected Gear is focused on the efficiency and effectiveness of Bros. Attacks. The Overalls serve no purpose but deal additional damage when lucky and or critical. The Badges are used to fully restore BP after getting an EXCELLENT rating from using Bros. Attacks. Lastly, the Accessories increase damage dealt to enemies to finish battles quickly.

Strategy: Captain Shy Guy has Deny, Rally, Parry, and Call for Backup as his Captain Commands. Use at most three CP every round to use all CP in the final round. This can be overdone, but his CP must be at maximum number in the final round. Use Deny in any round if the enemy's type is weak to the targeted ally's type. Use Rally twice at most and use the remaining CP on Deny in the final round. If Captain Shy Guy is the last unit standing and has low HP remaining, resort to Parry. Call for Backup is also an acceptable option.




Ludwig

Bowser Jr. (Flying)




Strategy: Use at most three CP every round to use all CP in the final round. This can be overdone, but Bowser Jr. and Ludwig's CP must be at maximum number in the final round. Either use Deny or Rally in any round. For Deny, use it up to three times if the enemy's type is weak to the targeted ally's type or if there is an enemy group attack. Use Rally at least twice and use the remaining CP on Deny in the final round. If the round gets overwhelming, use Snack Time to restore your units' HP. Use Stop and Drop on enemy groups and Malatone-infected enemies only. Apply Deny's condition when necessary.
