This badge reduces the time to input the guard and superguard commands by one frame. If you equip 8 or 3 badges, respectively, do they become impossible? PinkYoshiFan 17:01, May 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Bringing attention back to this question, and I also wonder if this differs in the remake given it being 30fps instead of 60. Technetium (talk) 10:15, September 3, 2024 (EDT)
- Simplifier and Unsimplifier only have 2 copies of each, but both GC and Switch have unused support for modifying Action Commands further if a 3rd of either is worn. I don't think there's a way to get the 3rd copies with glitches in GC, but Switch has duplication glitches that can be used. I was able to get the frame data of Guards and Superguards with every amount of (Un)simplifiers for both GC and Switch by doing different things. For GC, I was able to use the speedrunner's practice codes to give myself the badges, and then used the "Guard/Superguard Timings" option to see the frame data by getting a successful guard. For Switch, I duplicated the badges, then recorded myself guarding because that version makes Mario enter the guard stance when pressing the button. I then counted the number of frames Mario was in the stance to get the frame data. It is important to remember that GC is 60 FPS, and that Switch is 30 FPS. 1 frame at 30 FPS is the same amount of time as 2 frames in 60 FPS.

- I don't know what would be the best way to integrate this info into the related articles. Unrelated to the frame data, these badges also affect the Run Away meter. Spencer PK (talk) 21:49, January 16, 2025 (EST)
