An untitled Mario Kart game for the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed alongside the system in a "first-look" trailer released on January 16, 2025. The art style of the game's characters appears to have changed significantly, resembling that of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, along with making the characters more expressive. The number of racers per race was increased to 24 compared to the previous 12.[1]
